Q: What is Matchanilla™ about?
A: Matchanilla™ is basically improved story line of Strawberry Kiss Sims 2 anime series. I had to rename the title for copyright reason since somehow there is already an existing Japanese manga bearing the same name. I would like to publish this manga into a book and sell it in the near future. In order to do so, I have to change the title and hence the name, 'Matchanilla'.

Q: Why did you decide to initialize this manga project when you can just continue Strawberry Kiss Sims 2 anime episode 05?
A: I initialized this project for two main reasons. One reason is I have to start practicing doing illustrations often for the sake of my dream and Sims 2 does not help me career-wise so I hope fans can understand my situation. Secondly, even if I find the time to do episode 05 for Strawberry Kiss Sims 2 anime, the main casts are not co-operating and finding new people are just too troublesome for me.

Q: What does Matchanilla™ mean?
A: There is a symbolic meaning behind the title. You have to read the manga to know what it means.

Q: What can we expect out of Matchanilla™?
A: You can expect a lot of delicious and mouth-watering pictures of pastries, bread and cakes for sure! So, please don't read this manga on empty stomach because I got hungry a lot while rendering this manga as well!

On a serious note, you can expect well-developed characters in Matchanilla™ over the time length and each character has his own strong points as well as weak points but I try to make a story that a lot of us can relate to in real life, just a little if not much. Also, I will be fair to appearance time for the characters, especially the main ones.

Q: Matchanilla™ is a collaboration manga project between you (faerhann) and fellow Magic Pumpkin Studio member, eyemi. How do you divide your work?
A: My job is to create the story line, traditional illustration with pen and paper (for now since I don't have tablet yet), and render. I do full renderings for background mostly and base-render the characters. Next, eyemi will enhance the characters with shadings and shadows. Finally, I will finalize each manga page by adding texts.

Q: How often can the readers expect a chapter to be released?
A: Initially, eyemi suggested chapter release every two weeks but after we had hands-on experience on manga process, I think it is a little impossible for just the two of us to release a chapter once every two weeks. Unless we can get at least another person to help us with the character base-rendering process (or when I get myself a tablet), we have to go for one chapter monthly.

You have to understand our situation that we are not mangaka by profession and we produce Matchanilla™ as our side project. Eyemi has school to attend and I have main job to go to.

Q: Where readers can read Matchanilla™?
A: For now, we are trying to have Matchanilla™ uploaded on one of famous manga-reading sites around. But we'll let the readers officially know about it when the first chapter is uploaded. Also, each chapter will be uploaded here on Magic Pumpkin Studio website.

Q: You mentioned that you have plans to publish Matchanilla™ into manga book and sell it to your fans. Is that correct?
A: Yes, we will publish and sell by the volume. One volume will have 10 chapters at least.

Q: What is so special about Matchanilla™ volume?
A: It is going to have extras such as character illustrations, some stories and pictures during making of (work in progress) and fun facts. We will mostly throw in a freebie for each volume too. Readers will not be able to read or view any of these extras on any site or receive any freebie from the websites. These will be only exclusive for those who purchase Matchanilla™ volume.

Q: When can we expect to read Matchanilla™ chapter 01?
A: We will finalize everything by November 11, 2011. It is probably going to take a few days receive approval to upload the chapter on well known manga-reading sites but Strawberry Kiss and Magic Pumpkin Studio fans will be able to read the chapter first on this website.

The Rules:

1. I only accept very high quality voice lines. Therefore, please record your lines using very clear mic. Also, I do not accept audio files with background, popping, puffing or hissing noise.
2. You may audition for several characters but you may only get a part in the anime. If you wish to audition for several characters, please record 1 audio file for 1 character to avoid confusion on my part.
3. Elaborated and emphasized expression is highly preferred since Strawberry Kiss is an anime after all. Please bear that in mind.
4. Please get straight to the point when recording your lines. Please do not record how you're excited about the audition or how you love Strawberry Kiss and so on. Just record the audition lines please.
5. You may record several tries for each line but please do not do it more than 3 (applies for voice audition only. When you get a part, you may record more than 3 trials for each of your line).
6. Please do not change or alter my script without notice. I do not appreciate this at all. If there is grammar error, please let me know about it.

The Format:

1. Please record your audition lines in .mp3 or .wav format only.
2. Your audio file name should look like this:

Strawberry Kiss Episode 5 Script

Hello everyone!

I just would like to inform to the lot of you that I have started writing the script for Strawberry Kiss episode 5 seriously since last night. Strawberry Kiss series will get a lot more exciting starting this episode and I am not at all talking about Miki's new image (honestly, Miki's new appearance only contributes 10% of the whole excitement at max)!

Here is rough outline on how many talented voice actors that I will be needing for Strawberry Kiss episode 5:

1. Probably 3 or 4 male voice actors for extras
2. 1 male voice actor for a new permanent character
3. 1 female voice actor for a new permanent character
4. I am most probably searching for a new female voice actor for Nakamura Miki. Honestly, I think I'll be too busy producing the episode (among producing illustrations on daily basis for my artwork portfolio and job search) that I don't even have time to become the voice of Miki.

Please spread the words about this search to your friends, the male ones, especially. I will be sure to post up a proper voice audition for episode 5 soon.

Sweeter Than Sugar: 2D Animated Film

Hello, everyone!

Finally, Magic Pumpkin Studio's first independent production anime, Sweeter Than Sugar, is already uploaded for viewing in Youtube. For those of you still have not been informed about this anime movie, it is a collaboration project among Magic Pumpkin Studio's members- Hana (a.k.a faerhann), EyeMi and Sora Jung.

If you have great love for anime or 2D animation, please take five minutes of your time to watch our light-viewing anime!

To tell you the truth, I had attempted in uploading this anime many times onto Youtube but there is always small percentage of the whole anime being a little pixelated and distorted with image error. It is probably partly due to the very high resolution anime (720HD) and also bad internet connection. Well, that is just the logical reasoning I have in my mind anyway.

I had also attempted in uploading non-HD anime version. Even if it does not have pixelated area or any error in image, the quality is not good enough. We took great effort in making high resolution illustrations for the anime and spent a lot of time in perfecting the lines and renderings, therefore non-HD anime version is just not worth it in our eyes.

Therefore, please watch the HD version (even better, click the 720HD viewing option!). Thank you so much for your time. If you like the anime, don't forget to 'Like' it and write comments. If we have a lot of support, I guess I will try to make another animated film.

First of all, I apologize for not updating Magic Pumpkin Studio in a while. Here, I would like to update you with a few quick announcements, which will be written in point forms!

1. Love = Choco!

Please check out the new project by Magic Pumpkin Studio, an interactive visual novel (novel is not the correct term to call it, let's just call it 'online video game') by the name 'Love = Choco!'. It is still in the pre-production stage and hopefully this project will be driven in full gear somewhere in December this year.

2. KPopkorn First Contest!

At the moment, this new original K-drama Sims series "Your Star, My Housemaid" is going through pre-production stage.

Magic Pumpkin Studio, together with Sora Jung will make an announcement on the voice audition soon.

This time, since this K-drama series will be in full Korean language, Sora Jung and I are looking for people who can read Hangul script (Korean) and fairly understand the Korean language.

Don't worry too much, this K-drama series will have English subtitles at the bottom.

It is going to be one tough project (especially finding Korean voice actors) but we will try our best!

We will also try our best to capture your heart and emotion through this drama. It is going to be a romantic comedy drama with funny and cute scenes, shocking scenes as well as the heart-wrenching and sad scenes.

Better yet, it is going to have a very complex and complicated storyline too!

Little Note:

Like I have mentioned earlier, the production stage (movie set-building, filming and video editing) will take place in November this year.

Announcement: Update List and "Hibernation"

In case you have not noticed, Magic Pumpkin Studio has introduced 3 new column authors for KPop Rants, Animanga Review and Sugar Sweet columns.

Their amusing and interesting writing pieces, not only bring you more variety of information but they also keep Magic Pumpkin Studio website stands active and alive while I (Hana) slowly start to "hibernate" through months of August to early (or mid) November to focus on my final year architecture project at university.

"Update List"

Please keep checking the "Column Authors Updates" list on the sidebar very often to be informed if there are new updates in the other authors' columns!

Since Hyunae, EyeMi and Sora Jung only have a stand-alone column each, every time they update their columns, their updates will not be updated in the main blog stream.

Therefore, please be on the lookout for their updates in the "Column Author Updates" on the sidebar (under "Blog Authors" and "Authors' Columns")!

"Hibernation"

Don't worry!

I will try to update a blog entry at least once a week but I regret to inform you that I cannot update as often until November comes.

I will, however, update the "new updates" list on the sidebar for other authors very often.

To those who have been asking me about when Strawberry Kiss episode 05 filming stage and voice audition will be carried out, I will execute it in November to December this year- that is when my university semester holiday/ break starts.

This information has not been released yet but, during (or before or after) the production of Strawberry Kiss is carried out, there will be another collaboration project with Sora Jung too (original storyline and idea by me)!

I apologize that I cannot produce any Sims-related videos when I am not on long semester break.

It has been that way and it will be that way. I hope everybody could understand my situation.

Just 2 more semesters (hopefully) before I graduate from university.

Therefore, I need to focus on my final year architecture project so that after graduation, I could produce more Sims 2-related series whenever I want.

Sugar Sweet Manhwa by Sora Jung

I would like to properly introduce you to the work of my dear friend, Sora Jung. She is currently producing a Sims 2 *manhwa entitled "Sugar Sweet".

Even though it is her original work, I sometimes provide help for her in the technical areas. Therefore, please give her your full support too! [wink]

It is about a number of people with different and interesting personalities as well as backgrounds, working together at a bakery shop owned by a mysterious owner.

Since it is a manhwa, all sound effects are in Korean instead of Japanese. However, the storyline and dialogs are in English so don't worry too much!

I have created a simple and cute look for MP studio's Sims 2 channel. There is no problem to know about MP studio's official website now, is it? [laughs]

I made a special space for Shinji and Miki in the left since they are main characters (kind of like mascots too!) for Strawberry Kiss, the main anime series in this channel for the time being.

Now that Strawberry Kiss episode 04 has been released, I want to do something nice for MP studio F.A.Ns!

These are the exact same ones I used in Strawberry Kiss episode 04 in the video arcade scene.

Strawberry Kiss: Episode 04

The Making of:

This episode is a comeback episode after almost a year of keeping myself inactive for several reasons, health and gaming technical issues, to name a few.

The editing of this episode started from early June this year (2010) to late of the same month. I have tried my best in order to film the controversial last scene of this episode, a somewhat important scene of the episode.

However, the technical problem with my game and my desktop computer has not been solved. Thousand apologies to my actors, audience and fans for not being able to make the scene for this episode.

This particular scene will be brought fourth in episode 05, which I personally do not know when I get the round to making it because I will be entering my final year in about a week.

If you notice, the camera work gets a lot smoother and I changed the lighting parameters (Gunmod Lighting's Hack) in the game so that the weather will look more realistic.

Besides that, I discover ways to make the video smoother in Sony Vegas Pro 8.0!

I also made more custom contents such as recolors of Maxis' original photo booth to make them look like Japanese Purikura photo booths (in the video game arcade scene), school uniforms, gym clothes, basketball uniforms and several more clothes.

Yes, to be honest, I have forgotten about editing the bonus scene for this episode even though I have filmed it. Thousand apologies again!

All in all, I personally think that the video quality gets upgraded a lot in this episode. Therefore, have an enjoyable time watching it!

Introducing: GIRL STORY!

Hello MP studio F.A.Ns!

For those of you who have not yet been informed, Girl Story (갈스토리) is a new emerging "net-idol" group under MP studio.

At the time being, Girl Story consists of 3 members:

Hana: Main vocal and leader of Girl Story

Jieun: Vocal

Hyunae: Main rapper

... Girl Story will search for 4th member (maybe a 5th as well but this has not been thoroughly discussed) soon. Please wait until the official announcement is released.

While in the process of producing and releasing Girl Story's first single ever (to release 3 original KPop-like songs), Girl Story does vocal covers and MV parodies of hot KPop (Korean pop) songs as well as Girl Story's own variety show called "Girl Story Theory".

Music Video?

Hello MP studio F.A.Ns!

After a year, I have another strong desire to produce yet another music video. However, it is not going to be a V-kei or J-rock PV.

I have been into KPop ever since, I don't know, late last year? Maybe around October or something [laughs]

Don't worry people. SK Comeback episode 04 will be released first before the pre-filming stage of this music video takes place.

Even Girl Story's (MP studio's sub-project) KPop MV parody will be out first. The information on this parody will be kept as secret until the SK Comeback episode release.

I am still undecided between two KPop MVs.

1. Big Bang - Tell Me Goodbye MV

2. MBLAQ - Y MV

The way I see it, since I will learn how to make custom animation in Milkshape for the first time ever (and pose), it is just natural to start off with something easy first.

My best bet is on Big Bang because the MV does not involve any dance movement.

I don't know. Maybe I'll put up a poll of which MV you all like better later just to get an idea which you prefer

For now, I'm browsing through CC downloads on the internet.

And I really got to do something with my game and somehow make it work.

It's just it doesn't make any sense, you know?

I got the game working last week and I managed to build movie set for the last SK comeback episode scene but somehow, I turned my PC off (Dammit! Why the hell did I do that for?!).

And now it doesn't work anymore.

Sorry for my morning rambling.

I just noticed there were new wall posts on 87angels channel page. Thank you so much for writing and for all the support you have been showing me.

I have recently started with the editing. I realize that my editing and filming style for episode 4 has been a little too drama instead of anime [sweat drop]

I am sorry for not continue with episode 4 sooner.

I had bad college break since my exam results were really bad (the worst results I had ever received) due to I got sick a lot last semester (which some of you don't believe me I'm sick but whatever) and that had pulled down my motivation.

Well, that's life.

There's going to be 3 parts for episode 4.

The 3rd part will be the last scene, which I cannot load my game until now.

I will try to work hard for part 1 and 2 but honestly for part 3, I cannot promise when it will be filmed and uploaded.

I am really sorry for it.

SHINee - 'LUCIFER' Review

EEEEEEEEEEEEEH!!!

I bet you all heard of the awesome new tune from the SHINee boys ey?

And what do you all think?

I for one, personally love this awesome new track from them and can't stop listening to them!

It's catchy and so addictive!

The boys are back with a new style and ready to take the Kpop world by storm!

And so, The SHINee boys explains to the fans that the song 'LUCIFER' is about a man who is in love with a women and he has to release his love for the women because he cant contain it anymore.

And The choreography!

What can I say about this? It's AMAZING!!

The popping and how synchronised everyone is in.. It's breath-taking!

= Taemin.. The new, long haired look gets everyone going and yet still, showing off his dance skills (which are awesome and so much better than 'Ring ding ding' xD)

= Jonghyun.. Showing off his muscles and his strong, husky voice can be heard clearly in this song and it is yet, very powerful.

= Key.. His unique new look attracts attention and also his rapping skills with Minho is awesome.

= Minho.. (Hope he's better soon!) Minho's rapping skill is still in good shape and his new look, personally for me, I rather dislike XD But I know I'll love it in the end! ;D

= Onew.. His sexy voice can be heard so clearly in 'Lucifer' and his vocals are still powerful and energised.

The whole album to me, it's amazing and well put together. With songs like 'Up&Down' and 'Ready or Not' and also some songs written by Onew (Your name) and Jonghyun (Yok -obsession-).. It's a must-listen to!

So, get downloading as I wont spoil you anymore!!

So, Now the SHINee boys are back!

Girl Story: The Introduction

About Girl Story

Girl Story (Korean: 갈스토리) is a net-girl group formed in June 2010 under Magic Pumpkin studio, an independent video and music production company which is also known as MP studio.

At the time being, Girl Story consists of only 3 members ever since their first debut on Girl Story channel on Youtube. The group consists of Hana (Leader), Hyunae and Jieun.

After Girl Story released the first episode their own variety show Girl Story Theory, they have discussed among themselves to search for a 4th member through audition on Youtube in order to make Girl Story stronger.

There is also a discussion on whether to search for a 5th member as well.

Music History

Pre-debut (May 2010)

Before the idea to form of Girl Story is initiated, Hyunae sought to Hana with an idea to do a vocal cover of Super Junior BONAMANA as a little project in the holidays in May 2010.

As soon as the project starts, Hana and Jieun came up with an idea to do a vocal of SNSD Oh! together.

This little vocal cover project has somehow made these 3 girls take a huge interest in KPop music.

One day, Jieun came up to Hana and gave her opinion on forming a group together with Hyunae and starting KPop music of their own.

Debut (June 2010)

This idea to form their own net-idol group started to flourish and that is how Girl Story is formed.

The group is officially formed in June 2010 and they have been producing vocal covers of KPop songs, KPop music video parodies as well as their own variety show called Girl Story Theory, which releases on monthly basis.

At the time being, while still producing vocal covers of KPop music, Girl Story is in the process of producing their own first single which will consist of 3 new original songs with KPop feel.

As for in June 2010, they are in the process of producing the first song of their single.

Episode 01 (hasn't renewed):

The Title

The title "Strawberry Kiss" was given since I had a strong urge to make Miki throws the strawberry cake she made and then the cake (not the box) hits Shinji's face.

All over Shinji's face at the time is covered with cake icing (frosting) and strwaberry slices.

That was why I came up with the idea of this title.

This scene will be added into the remake of this episode soon since now I know a little bit how to make face makeup.

Miki's Passion for Baking

I, myself, actually love baking cakes, cookies and desserts, which is why it is easy for me to transfer my hobby to Miki's character.

If my any of the cakes I make is a little burn or bad, that's not the problem [laughs] Miki will always bakes perfectly!

The Opening Track:

Actually, there are more Japanese rock/ visual kei/ oshare kei that I truly love. alice nine.'s TSUBASA. had already been released probably 2 years ago.

However, the first verse and the first chorus of TSUBASA. match my anime series perfectly (for now). So, that was how I chose it for the opening track.

As for opening and ending track, I will change them later in future episodes.

The Character Names:

Nakamura Miki: The last name, Nakamura, was taken from a mangaka's last name whose manga was on my book shelf. I was too lazy to search for last names that day [laughs]

Arai(hara) Shinji: The name Shinji is the birth name of alice nine.'s Tora (the guitarist). I was so crazy about him at that time, I don't know why and so, the name Shinji.

Oshiro Yuki: I actually wanted to give Yuki's last name something different. Then, I got some crazy idea to give his last name "Oshiro" which means white and Yuki means snow. Basically, his name literally means Snow White!

Other character names for this episode were carefully choosen by me with no reference of manga or anime.

Episode 02:

The Yakuza Group:

I had watched a lot of anime, manga and J-drama. The one with storyline involves a yakuza or mafia group are not that many.

I found a story about a yakuza family life is interesting especially when I watched "My Boss, My Hero" and game movie, "Yakuza".

I learned a lot doing the research about yakuza.

Yes, before I create any episode plot and building and decorate movie set, I research about the culture, norms and art and building of architecture in Japan first.

Sakura The Guy Hater

I changed Sakura's character from "okay" with the guys to someone who is feminist and anti-guys.

I think in a group of friends, Miki's friends, there should be a wide range of characters to make an episode more interesting.

So now, there is someone who flirts a lot and changes boyfriend many times, someone who is an anti-guys and someone who is nerdy but wants to win attention of a girl but is not quite sure how to.

If everyone has the same characters, I think this story is more like typical hich school chic flick like Mean Girls and many more.

Episode 03:

Class 3D

I know it is really bad of me to stereotype any 3D classroom is allocated for troublesome students, but I just go with the flow of it when many J-drama and manga I watch created 3D classrooms as so.

I just thought it would be really fun when there is a class full with troublesome students indiscipline students!

I'm sorry.

The Violence at The End

Some people say the storyline doesn't suit with the violence appear at the end of this episode.

Well, guess what? Next episodes after this episode will go toward either speech or physical violence.

Maybe I have to include a little violence in the remaking of SK ep. 01.

New Mesh + Recolors Collaboration Project Brief

This blog entry is specifically dedicated to those who were interested to be in a collaborative new mesh- recolors project with Magic Pumpkin .studio.

Therefore, to those 17 individuals who voted "Sure, I'd love to" for a poll conducted here, "If you are good at making new object mesh, would you like to be in a collaborative project with Magic Pumpkin .studio.?", this project brief is for you! [hugs]

These are the Sims 2 objects that will be featured in Strawberry Kiss episode 05.

I have checked a lot of sites for these objects and I could not find any.

To the kind 17 individuals (or anybody else who is interested to be in this project), please email me at faerhann@gmail.com to inform me which objects you are able to do at your mesh-making expertise level.

I am counting you for the new object meshes and you can count on me to do as realistic recolors and retextures that I can.

1. Choco Banana

1. Stainless steel container to put colored sauce in. Please create one object mesh that has 4 compartments (just like in the picture), each one compartment has different height level of sauce (or 2 of the same height level, alternate with the another height level). Type: Object deco.

2. Container to put the sprinkles in. Please create one object mesh with sprinkles in. Just make a container with solid colored liquid in. I will recolor the "liquid" to make it looks like sprinklers. Type: object deco.
