Storyline: DISTRESS AND COMA PV

WARNING: This storyline contains spoiler! I suggest that you watch my version of the GazettE - DISTRESS AND COMA PV first before reading!

This video starts off with a scene of an abandoned room with hospital bed. My interpretation of the video is this abandoned room represents the lonely heart of the sick woman, Eriko.

Ruki goes to the Cancer Unit of Tokyo Medical Center to visit his beloved one, Eriko (this character is all fictional, she does not represent Ruki's real life girlfriend).

With him, he brings along a bouquest of "Get Well Soon" balloons, as a little effort to cheer her up- to tell her that he will be there for her while she is courageously battling with her cancer. He wants to tell Eriko that she is not facing her sickness alone, that he will never let go of her hand.

Ruki smiles to himself when he remembers that Eriko's doctor said that there was a chance of Eriko getting better.

However, as he walks to Eriko's private hospital ward, he overhears the doctor and the nurse telling Eriko to calm down. Apparently, Eriko's cancer has already come to the last stage and there is nothing else that the medical staff can further help.

Ruki overhears the bad news from outside of the room since the ward door is left ajar. He finds it ironic that doctors say Eriko will die in a year or two when he is holding a bouquet of hellium balloons with "Get Well Soon" written on it.

Eriko hits rock bottom after she receives the bad news.

"How can I die now after all the support given by Ruki? Fate is being unfair to him as much as it is to me" she thinks to herself. Her dream of staying by Ruki's side forever shatters in front of her.

She definitely is not prepared to take off to the otherside of the world. The image of Eriko healthy and having a wonderful normal happy life with Ruki has clouded her logic on things.

"Maybe if I take more pills than what the doctors have prescribed me, maybe I'll get better sooner. The doctors don't know if I can never get better again. There are cases where doctors can go wrong!"- her mind is desperately seeking for anything to undo the bad news.

So, in order to get healthy quickly, she takes a drastic meassure of swallowing all of her medication pills at once. While she is holding a mountain of pills in her hand, Ruki sees her from outside of the room.

He hugs Eriko so tightly from behind to constantly remind her that she is not alone in this mess.

Eriko is surprised that Ruki still insists on being with her.

She says softly, in crying tone, "Why are you still here? You heard it. I'm going to die soon. Please leave me before you get yourself hurt more than you already are"

He whispers gently in Eriko's ears, "It's okay if I get hurt. But please, don't further hurt yourself with those pills"

"This is too unexpected," Ruki says in his mind.

Little that Eriko knows that in Ruki's pants pocket lies a box that contains an engagement ring.

Ruki is in love with Eriko too much that he wants to spend his lifetime, even short one, with Eriko. So, he drops down on his knees and propose to Eriko.

Ruki's action is a shock to Eriko.

"What are you thinking? A marriage with me only means forcing you into becoming a married man without your wife in a year. It will be too cruel for you," says Eriko in trembling voice.

Even though her heart is crying, even though the idea of having a chance to become Ruki's Mrs. is the only thing she could think of ever since the day she met Ruki, she does not have the heart to do that to Ruki. It is too cruel to him, she further thinks.

Ruki gets back on his feet and pulls Eriko towards him.

"Didn't I tell you that it is okay if I get hurt? I love you too much, Eriko. Even if it is only for a short time, I have dreamed of becoming your husband for a long time, ever since I met you" he said gently and kisses her forehead like she is the most fragile thing he has ever held.

After a few weeks, Eriko finally agrees to become Ruki's wife. For her, she cannot even resist to have that title "wife" with Ruki for too long.

On their wedding day, attended with the rest of the GazettE band members, Eriko, in a beautiful white wedding dress, walks gracefully down the aisle.

A few hours earlier, she had been fighting with faitigue but she did not say a word to Ruki, who is standing so handsome in front of her at the moment. She does not want to worry Ruki.

A few steps down the aisle, Eriko feels a huge wave of sickness in her body more and more. Before, she knows it, she already falls down to the ground.

Their dreams collapse in a mere seconds before their eyes. More lies. Even when the doctor said Eriko will have at least a year left, she helpless falls onto the ground.

"I'm sorry, Ruki," Eriko finally finds strength to say it to Ruki while desperately gasping for air, while suppressing her pain.

Sooner before Ruki realizes it, she is already gone. Never once something like this would have ever acrossed Ruki's mind. He screams, hoping it will bring Eriko back to life although he perfectly understands he can't.

The woman, in the abandoned room (Eriko's empty heart), is actually Eriko's soul.

Her appearance seems a little messy to show that she had battled her cancer day by day, nonstop.

Her eyes are shut, blindfolded, because her soul does not seem to stop crying. To hide her painful sadness, she starts to dance, hoping that the act will send a message to Ruki to stop being sad over her death.

The woman outside of the abandoned room is Eriko's conscience, her mind. Eriko's mind is trying to tell Eriko's soul that it is okay to let go of the past.

At the end of the PV, Eriko's soul finally smiles after accepting the fact that it is time to let go. "I had a good life. I should not be sad that it ended too quickly anymore"

you know if ruki thinked something like this when he wrote te lyrics?

No, I doubt it

Ruki always writes his lyrics symbolicly

Being someone who isn't that kind of level, this straight forward storyline manipulated by his words is entirely based on my point of view
